LOWER KINDERGARTEN
Hello and welcome to all new parents and children who will be joining us in Lower Kindergarten this September. My name is Mrs Anderson and my teaching assistants are Mrs Earnshaw and Miss Jenkinson.
We shall begin this term by looking at colours and shapes and begin to learn the letter sounds s, a, t, i, p and n.
We realise that the first day at school can be extremely daunting for both you and your child. In an effort to try and reduce this a little, you will find a few instructions on your child’s peg which we hope will help you to deposit all the paraphernalia of uniform, briefcase and backpack in the correct place. Please do not hesitate to ask either myself or any of the early years team if you have any questions.
We shall be holding a “Jolly Phonics “ evening on Monday 17th September 2012, this is an informal information evening for parents of children attending Lower Kindergarten during which I will explain in more detail how reading and writing are taught in the school and the part Jolly Phonics plays within this throughout Key Stage 1.
We look forward to meeting you all on Wednesday 5th September 2012.
