Spring Term 2013
Form III have returned from Christmas refreshed and ready for learning!
The information below is intended to give you a little more detail about the kind of work Form III will be doing during the Spring Term. As ever, if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to come and ask me.
I have rejigged the timetable slightly and the new one is up on the notice board. Our spelling test is now on a Tuesday afternoon and comprehension homework will be sent home once a week, usually on a Wednesday. We will also start developing our verbal reasoning skills in class on a Thursday.
Mathematics is taught in the morning by Mrs Lawrence. This term we are covering mental addition and subtraction of 2 digit numbers, reflective symmetry, reading scales, bar charts, time to the nearest 5 minutes, multiplying 2 digit numbers, angles, Carroll diagrams, fractions and their equivalents and remainders!
English is also taught in the morning by Mrs Lawrence. This term we are looking at instructions including writing in the present tense and imperative verbs. Keep an eye on our display for work as it is produced. We will then look at Fables and Myths, Famous Authors, Shape Poems and Calligrams.
In I.C.T we are making and sorting data using databases. We will take an introductory look at PowerPoint after half-term.
R.E. looks at Hinduism this term including the background, worship, festivals and symbols.
With Mrs Miller, the children are learning about the Ancient Greeks.
In Geography they are looking at the weather and climates, including reading and drawing graphs.
Mr Jagger and the children are looking at ‘Going for Goals’!
