A very warm welcome to all who visit our web site. We hope you find it informative and helps you in your efforts to support your child through school. A brief history of our school :- The Holy Spirit Primary School in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire opened in 1968 and continues a tradition of Catholic Education in the town. Bishop Robert Cornthwaite of Beverley established the first Catholic Parish in Heckmondwike in 1871 and Fr Stephen Dolan was to be the first Parish Priest celebrating Masses from a rented room in a house in Brighton Terrace. It wasn't until 1873 that the first Chapel and school were opened on All in school today hope we play our part in providing a high quality education for both the Catholic Community in Heckmondwike West Yorkshire and those of other denominations who want to learn in a Christian environment. All we do is underpinned by our faith and the teachings of the Church. We have endeavoured to encapsulate all that we are about in our Mission Statement. We hope that you enjoy our primary school web site and that your children enjoy their time with us and fulfil their full potential spiritually, socially and academically. |
